Water Pump Manufacturer Information

Introducing Barmesa Water Pumps

Based out of Laredo, Texas, Barmesa is a family owned business that’s been producing and manufacturing top-of-the-line water pumps for over 60 years. Initially selling to the rural market, Barmesa mostly sold jet pumps, self-primer pumps, and end suction centrifugal pumps. In the 70s, however, they expanded their business, successfully growing their product line to include submersible non-clog pumps and grinder pumps. If you are looking for reliability and great products, then Barmesa water pumps are perfect.

Thompson Self-Priming Water Pumps

Last month we welcomed Thompson Pumps to our catalogue of reliable, workhorse water pumps. Thompson Pumps is a family owned manufacturer of water pumps that are ideally suited for a number of industries including construction, municipal and public works, mines, pits, and quarries, oil and gas, emergency response, environmental remediation, and agriculture. Their pumps range from two to eighteen inches and span six families of pump type, but today we'll feature two of those we offer on Absolute Water Pumps, the Thompson Self-Priming Trash Pump and the Thompson High Pressure Solids Handling Compressor-Assisted Dry Prime Jet Pump

Thompson Pumps for Construction

These pumps are built for the most rugged and tough construction applications. These heavy-duty machines are capable of handling equipment washdown, force main pumping, groundwater removal, excavation dewatering, sewer bypass, slurry transfer, slurry wall, water supply, wellpoint dewatering and installation, and more.

Thompson Pumps for Emergency Response

Your Thompson Pump is prepared, experienced, and ready. Thompson pumps have been present in cleaning up catastrophic disasters like Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, and Superstorm Sandy. An emergency is already a worrisome and costly disaster, so make sure you're secured with a powerful, reliable water pump from Thompson. Some of the specific emergency applications for a Thompson pump include flood dewatering, temporary fire suppression, water supply, filtration, recovery of hazardous materials, and more.

Thompson Pumps for Agriculture

With a high volume, high pressure pump from Thompson, you no longer have to hesitate about completing those big farm jobs. Perfect for water transfer, irrigation, and dust abatement, Thompson's heavy-duty, end-suction centrifugal pumps are reliable every time, and feature an Enviroprime System which is automatically primed and provides the environmental advantage of not spilling pump fluids on the ground.

Thompson 6HT Pump

Thompson 6HT-DIS-4LE2T Self-Priming Trash Pump

Submersible Shredder Sewage Pumps

Swallow your food whole and you’ll choke. Chewing allows for easier digestion and prevents food from getting caught in your throat. The same goes for your water pump when trying to transport liquids with fibrous, high solid content, or sludge type materials through pipes or hoses. Solid content or sewage waste can wear down or erode normal pumps and get stuck in the discharge apparatuses. Materials need to be filtered or ground with a shredder sewage pump to ensure no damage to the pump which could result in potentially hazardous leaks or spills.

If the materials coming through a water pump can’t be ground up and pipes are continually ground upon, manual cleaning is needed.  This takes away from valuable production time, ultimately costing you money. Leaks can also end up costing you money when you must replace your pump prematurely. When it comes to pumping of animal waste or other hazardous materials, a leaky pump could face EPA violations which could lead to significant fines.

AMT Water Pumps have worked with farmers and municipalities to design products that are durable, reliable, and safe. One example is the 5700 series of AMT electric submersible shredder sewage pumps which specialize in digesting solids. These pumps are manufactured for applications including, but not exclusive to: dirty water drainage, sewage pumping stations, septic tanks, flood relief, and sludge removal.  These submersible shredder sewage pumps include a number of special features to ensure proper processing and discharge of materials:

  • Durable cast iron construction with stainless steel motor housing - ensures dependable function and worry-free operation

  • Carbide tipped shredder impeller - prevents clogging and reduces maintenance when cutting through stringy, fibrous and sludgy type waste

  • Spiral shredder plate with hardened surface - enhanced cutting ability

  • Double mechanical seals plus shaft seal - upper: carbon/ceramic with Buna-N elastomers, lower: silicon carbide with elastomers, prevents unnecessary leakage

These features allow for maximum cutting ability and prevent leaks and corrosion which could lead to pump failure. AMT has also decreased the possibility of leaks and clogging with their use of a triple seal system and quality cutting materials.  Pump models vary in port sizes (from 2 to 4 inches), horsepower, single or 3-phase power, and voltages to meet your individual needs.

The Subaru Story

As is the case with other manufacturers of multiple lines of merchandise, Subaru has perhaps become best known in recent years for its many models of automobiles.

In the early 1980s, Subaru’s cars were billed as “inexpensive and built to stay that way.”  Another advertisement from around the same time period featured a couple of slightly obnoxious people asking of a Subaru, “Does it have a motor?” and “Can I kick the tires?” Once they saw the logo, they exclaimed in delight, “Oh! It’s a Subaru!”

Despite the clever, modern advertising, Subaru’s products aren’t exactly what one could call newcomers.

The industry-leading technology found in Subaru’s generators, engines and water pumps is a product of many decades of advanced engineering that began with the company’s parent organization, Fuji Heavy Industries, all the way back in 1917. Fuji maintained an aerospace focus at Japan’s Nakajima Aircraft Laboratory, eventually manufacturing the country’s first jet engine.

Fuji’s success in aerospace led the company to enter the field of land transportation when it manufactured its first car in 1953 – the Subaru 1500.

Having earned a reputation for building reliable and dependable engines over the course of four decades, Fuji established a brand-new corporate division, called Robin - after the hard-working bird of the same name - that was devoted to general-purpose, air-cooled gasoline engines. Robin was founded in 1956.

In 1993, Robin engines expanded to North America. And in 2001, Subaru Industrial Power Products became the first to introduce chain-driven overhead cam technology in smaller, air-cooled engines – known as the EX Series -- in the United States. Seven years later, Subaru Industrial Power Products became the first company to use electronic fuel injection technology in V-twin industrial engines, which were mass produced under the name EH72 FI V-Twin Engines.

In 2012, Robin America changed its name to Subaru Industrial Power Products, better reflecting the innovation and technology that the parent company incorporates into each product. In 2012, Subaru Industrial Power Products introduced the industry’s first 5-year warranty. Today, the power products division is the fourth leading engine manufacturer in the world, making over 1 million engines every year.
